Robyn Sherwell

Robyn Sherwell is a London based singer-songwriter, but still calls the island of Guernsey home, a sentiment best witnessed in her recent video for her song ‘My Hand’, which was shot on the island in 2010.

Her distinctive sound is rooted in the singer-songwriter tradition, favouring acoustic arrangement and stripped-back production, gently blending elements of soul and folk with some electro touches. The songs are largely autobiographical, exploring love & heartbreak, and notions of home and travel.

Her arresting vocals effortlessly blend power and fragility. With poetic lyrics and an uncompromisingly raw delivery, the result is a gorgeous bittersweet collection of songs, which both demand and capture the listener’s ear.

With the support of an eclectic group of musicians and friends, Robyn is currently performing some intimate gigs in London, as well as writing and recording material for eventual release.
